It’s All Going To Be OK
Everything you experience, from the feeling of your shoes keeping your feet dry, to the scent of a eucalyptus candle, to the emails, texts and alerts inundating your face right now are all bits of information your brain identifies and tries to put in a nice structured place so you can continue through life.
If you stopped to think about all of these “inputs”, you’d be a hot mess.
For the most part, your brain’s really good at handling all the bodily sensation stuff. When it comes to outside of body stuff like emails, texts and alerts, your brain could use some help. The organization of that more imaginary stuff is dependent on who’s sending and receiving the information and why they’re doing it. You guessed it, outside forces…The Horror.
Your brain starts off by thinking, “hmmm…where does this go? Is it wicked super important or just super important. Wait, is there a difference? Does my boss think it’s important? My family thinks it’s important, so it’s gotta be wicked important. My dog does not think it’s important. So, there’s that. Yesterday, it was the most important, but now…wait…now, is it important or not? What if I got it wrong?”
Sad face. When your brain starts off by not being sure where to put the information, that information is dirty. It only gets dirtier as it passes through the information channels of the brain as it flows through the rules you learned as a kid and your emotional state and yadda yadda…mess town.
If you try to pass it on to others…That crap gets cray.
Insert wailing, gnashing of teeth and shaking fists at the sky.
At this point in the diatribe, you may be saying, “That’s great jerk, why are you being such an asshole?”
So I can follow up with, “It’s all going to be ok”. Your brain can be trained to manage the inputs from outside forces. Along with training, your brain can use a tool, a digital fanny pack to organize it.
Training - Every time you try to organize your information, do it better and more efficiently the next time and keep doing that until it is a subconscious action.
Tool - A fanny pack. One central dashboard to consolidate all of your information. It’s a structure that is built to organize the information from general to specific. The information flows into the right place based on the structure and rules created in the tool…not going through the mess town in your mind. Like your muscles know how to adjust to uneven ground, your central dashboard adjusts to the twists and turns that information takes.
Everything is information management and your brains can do it. Execution Consultants can help with your overall info flow, Profunk Productions can help with your production specific workflow.
